A small introduction of me, I first started to prepare my wedding on August 2007 as my big day was on March 2009. As and when I had gone through my preparation, I started to compile and share my experience to guide all couples.

This blog will assist you on the information on how you can start your wedding and some resources. So-called a useful blog that compile from my research and experience to provide all informations for all brides-to-be or grooms-to-be.

Hotel Checklist

There are many things to take note when choosing wedding venue. It's not an easy task as there are many factors to consider.

DEPOSIT
* How much is the deposit upon signing the contract?
* Check the number of reserved tables.
* When to confirm the final number of tables?

FOOD
* Food tasting
- number of people (approximate 6-12 pax)
- available date and time
- is it private function room?
- who will be there to assist during food tasting?
* Snacks / Canapes during reception.
* Provide Halal or Vegetarian meals? Any additional cost? When to confirm?
* If hotel can provide and if there is one table of vegetarian guests, check if it is in normal table price.

BEVERAGE
* Change beer to wine if possible.
* Is there any complimentary wine for every confirmed table?
* Corkage waiver fee
* Complimentary barrel of beer? How much for additional barrel?
* Complimentary Free flow of beer
- Most hotel provide free flow of beer from 8pm to 11pm with the minimum confirmed tables.
- Can change the time to 7.30pm and end at 11pm instead?

DECOR
* Decor of Ballroom
* Decor of Reception
* Decor of Solemnisation table
* Meet florist to discuss about the ballroom setting theme
* Able to view other peoples' wedding setting
* Lighting effect available (need us to do or hotel will have one person to do it)
* Sound system (done by us or hotel people)
* Projector
- how many can be used?
- Any rental charges?
- Position of screen?

HOTEL ROOM
* Complimentary bridal suite
* Any free upgrade to bigger bridal suite?
* Additional one night stay?
* Helpers room
- Any complimentary stay
- Any additional cost
- Is it on same level?
* Visit of bridal suite and helpers room
* Time for check-in/out
* Food provided before/after dinner
* Complimentary snacks before wedding dinner

ROM
* Additional charges
* How will the arrangement be like?
* Any available function room for solemnisation? Any charges?

PROGRAMS
* 1st dish presentation
* Choice of songs

WEDDING FAVORS
* What type?
* View samples
* Does it include reserve tables?
* If some guests did not take, will the hotel staff help to pack and give to couple?

WEDDING CARDS
* View samples
* Amount provided
* Time required to print
* Cost of printing
* Additional cost if need more cards
* How much are the printing for inserts?

WEDDING CAKE
* Number of tiers
* Replacement of wedding cakes to cupcakes - Any charges?
* Choice of wedding cake decoration

CARPARK
* Provide complimentary carpark coupons, how many?
* Cost to buy additional coupons
* Any alternative carpark area if hotel carpark is full
* Any VIP lots for bridal car?

LOCATION
* Convenient? Any MRT nearby?
* Any shuttle bus?
* Is it easy to hail cab?

WEDDING REHEARSAL
* Request to have one a few weeks before wedding to test out montage, AV system, LCD projector, lighting effect, etc.

WAITER / WAITRESS
* Any to serve food/drinks during reception?
* Ratio of waiter to tables during dinner
* Will banquet manager be there to oversee the whole event?
