Wedding Transportation Checklist

Arranging the transportation can be one of the most nerve-wrecking and emotional of your life. It may be the most wonderful as there is a reason to do on your style or comfort. Before deciding on your mode of transportation, consider the style of your wedding, distances involved and the time of the journey.

- Check the number of trips you need for the transport.
- What kind of transport is needed for your wedding enturage?
- Is transport required for your guests?
- Is the groom personally driving to fetch the bride?
- Choose transport that's in keeping with the style of your wedding.
- Arrange an appointment to see the Vehicle before booking or paying a deposit (photos and leaflets don't show marks or a scruffy interior.)
- How much does the company charge? Is there a minimum charge?
- Is there any insurance coverage? Get insurance if not available.
- Is a standard wedding package offered? Is there a discount when booking extra vehicles?
- Are the drivers/operators certified?
- What is the contingency plan should your vehicle may not be available on the day?
- How far in advance will you have to make your booking?
- What is the company's policy on cancellation/postponement?
- How much is the deposit to secure the date and the due date?
- When is the balance due?
- Confirm date, time and location with a written contract and reconfirm any bookings that you have made the week before the wedding.
- Choose a wedding car in a colour that doesn't clash with bride's bouquet or the bridesmaid's dresses.
- Buy the ribbon for the car in advance and ask for a reliable member of the bridal party to attach it. This can be fiddly to do, so practice is essential.
- Coordinate the colour of the car ribbon with your flowers and/or the theme of your wedding.
- Make sure you can easily enter/exit the vehicle in your dress.
